1871 Events COVID-19 Update

Given the varying levels of uncertainty in regards to hosting public events due to the progression of COVID-19, your health and safety are our top priority at 1871.

We want you to know that we are committed to doing our part to keep both our members, guests, staff, and community healthy. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are keeping a close eye on official information, including the Chicago, Illinois, and U.S. Departments of Public Health and guidance published by the CDC.

We ask that you confirm with your event’s host and our events attendee portal to ensure that the event you planned on attending at 1871 is still happening: 1871.com/events.

Please note, events that are canceled will no longer be listed on our website.

To keep our community healthy, we have instituted the following:

If you are experiencing sickness/cough, fever, shortness of breath, or congestion; or have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19; or live in or have recently traveled from an area with a Level 2 or 3 Travel Health Notice, you will not be permitted to attend events at 1871.

The 1871 space is sanitized each day and disinfecting wipes, antibacterial soap, and hand sanitizers are available throughout. Finally, we have implemented a “no physical contact” policy at all 1871 events.

Don’t take these actions personally! We want to keep everyone protected and healthy. Look out for further updates from us as this situation evolves.

Thank you!
