Startup Institute Partners with 1871 to to Offer 10 Full Scholarships

What’s better than a free chance to get the network and skills to break into the startup ecosystem?

To celebrate our newest partnership, 1871 is offering 10 full scholarships to attend Startup Institute Chicago’s eight-week full-time career accelerator. 1871 will work with its community partners to identify top candidates who will benefit from the scholarships.

Startup Institute is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Chicago. We’ve graduated three cohorts since then, and our alumni work at some of Chicago’s best and brightest companies, such as Signal (formerly known as BrightTag), AvantCredit, Fooda, Brad’s Deals, IfByPhone, and Civis Analytics.

Turns out they like us a lot, too.

Startup Institute Chicago recently announced moving its campus to 1871, a massive tech hub that has long been committed to two of the same goals on which our business is built: helping to grow the startup ecosystem, and to create access to jobs in tech.

Startup Institute’s eight-week program helps students to gain the skills as well as the networked relationships they’ll need to be successful employees at one of hundreds of Chicago tech startups and high-growth companies. Students looking to transition to careers in tech can select from one of four disciplines: Web Development (Ruby on Rails), Product & Design, Technical Marketing, and Sales & Account Management. These tracks overlay onto the functional needs that companies have told us time and again they’re looking for when they begin to scale and hire at a rapid rate.

So, in sum:

  • 1871 is offering 10 full scholarships to Startup Institute’s full-time eight-week career accelerator
  • Startup Institute alums get jobs at really cool companies in Chicago

We’re proud to be a part of the movement. We hope that you will join Startup Institute and 1871 in growing Chicago’s startup community.
