Civis Analytics and @properties were honored as the 2016 Merrick Momentum Awards winners at the 9th Annual Momentum Awards Dinner, held by the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center Thursday evening at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. The coveted award honors businesses that are on track to become the next great companies to emerge in Chicago.
@properties received the 2016 Merrick Momentum Award, while Civis Analytics received the 2016 Merrick "Rising Star" Momentum Award -- a new honor which recognizes a company less than five years old. Previous recipients of the awards, sponsored by Merrick Ventures, include Avant, kCura, Braintree, GrubHub, Eved, and SAVVO, among others. Finalists for the 2016 awards included SpotHero, Uptake, Learnmetrics, Rise Interactive and Caremerge.
“Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center is proud to recognize these two companies as incredible innovators in Chicago’s fast-growing tech community,” said Jim O’Connor Jr., Chairman of the CEC Board. “Their success and impact on the community as a whole sets an example for all aspiring tech startups and entrepreneurs.”
Additionally during the program, Comcast was honored with the 2016 Corporate Champion Award, Impact Engine received the Chicagoness Award, and Jai Shekhawat accepted the Entrepreneurial Champion Award. The event was produced by the CEC for the benefit of 1871.
