Rose Afriyie grew up in the Bronx, N.Y., with four siblings and the help of social service programs such as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.
Today, she is working to give Chicagoans an easier way to find out if they could be eligible for social services using technology.
